1KG FOR THE PLANET
OUR CHALLENGE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
1KG FOR THE PLANET is the conscious challenge we gave ourselves to take this thru-hike of Europe to another level and take the opportunity to do something important for the environment.
But it is also the universal challenge we throw out to all hikers and nature lovers concerned about a better future
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
During this ultralight hiking trip, the weight of our backpacks is the first obstacle to the trail.
By keeping space to collect up to 1 kilo (2,2 pounds) of garbage along the way, which we will empty as often as possible, we make an extra effort on our weight which represents a real commitment for the planet. During summer the waste could represent up to 10% of the weight of our bags!
But the magic will come if we all do this! :)
Our trails are beautiful, some of them sometimes dating back to Antiquity, others were created by the wildlife before being followed by humans, all of them have a history and represent a legacy that we must maintain and preserve.
HIKE COLLECT THROW - HIKE COLLECT THROW - REPEAT...
In our case, walking more than 500 days, we will be able to collect more than a ton of waste counting only us 2!
And certainly hundreds of tons if you too take up the 1KG FOR THE PLANET challenge!
We had these waste collection bags made from recycled bottles with donations received by our association.
We give them for free in exchange for a promise.
When you order us a 1KG FOR THE PLANET bag, you become an Ambassador of the project, you agree to help us to make the project live by spreading the word and by posting regularly photos of your collections on the dedicated Facebook group and/or on Instagram with the #1kgfortheplanet
HOW TO GET YOUR
WASTE COLLECTION BAG
No need for a logo to pick up trash! Any bag can do the trick and it's free.
However, we believe that having a name and a visual identity to bring together all the collectors in the same community can have a strong power. That's why we made these bags.
We do not have the budget to cover the shipping costs, so they are at your own expense.
